Father Reclaims Children Abandoned at Apostle Gift Chibuzor Chinyere’s Gate
A fresh update has come from Omega Power Ministries (OPM) founder, Apostle Gift Chibuzor Chinyere.
Just a day after announcing that two children were abandoned at the gate of his home, the Apostle revealed that their father has stepped forward at Rumuokoro police station to reclaim them. According to the man, his wife had dropped the children out of desperation, citing severe hardship as the reason.
The police have now handed the children over to their father, closing what could have been another long-term burden for Apostle Chibuzor. In his words, “I don try with more than 500 children and they must graduate from university, get a job and live my house before any more children go come my house.”
This statement makes his stance clear: he has reached his limit. For years, Apostle Chibuzor has taken in abandoned children, providing shelter, food, and education. But this time, he says the responsibility now lies with the parents and authorities.
The update raises important questions about family responsibility and the impact of economic hardship on homes across Nigeria. Many families continue to struggle with rising living costs, unemployment, and lack of support, sometimes leading to heartbreaking decisions.
While it is a relief that the children have been reunited with their father, the situation highlights the need for stronger community and government systems to protect vulnerable families. Parents should never have to resort to abandoning their children. At the same time, faith leaders and private individuals cannot be the only safety net.
For many Nigerians following this story, the key message is simple: charity can help, but lasting solutions must involve responsible parenting, effective child protection services, and better support for struggling households.
