Enoch Adeboye Reflects On Son’s Death And His Questions For God
General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has opened up about his personal grief and faith journey following the passing of his son, Pastor Dare Adeboye, in 2021.
Speaking during a recent message, Pastor Adeboye admitted that the painful experience left him with many questions for God.
“I had many questions for God when my son died,” he said honestly, expressing the deep pain and confusion that came with the loss.
Despite the heartache, Adeboye emphasized that his trust in God’s sovereignty has remained firm. He reminded believers that even in times of loss and unanswered questions, God’s purposes are always greater than human understanding.
His message has struck a chord with many Christians, who praised his openness and courage in sharing such a deeply personal moment.
Pastor Adeboye encouraged Christians not to lose faith in times of grief, explaining that worship is even more powerful when it comes from a place of pain.
“Even when we do not understand, we must still trust that God knows what He is doing,” he said.
For many, his words serve as a powerful reminder that grief and faith can coexist, and that holding on to God in seasons of sorrow is an act of true worship.
Pastor Dare Adeboye, fondly called Pastor D, passed away in 2021 at the age of 42. He was known for his passion for youth ministry and his dedication to the vision of the RCCG. His legacy continues to inspire young believers across Nigeria and beyond.
