Governor Umo Eno Pays Condolence Visit to Family of Late Evangelist Uma Ukpai
Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno, has paid a heartfelt condolence visit to the family of the late Evangelist Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai, who recently passed away at the age of 80.
During the visit, held at the Ukpai family residence, Governor Eno described the late evangelist as a “true general of faith” whose life of humility, service, and dedication to the gospel touched millions across Nigeria and beyond.
He noted that Rev. Uma Ukpai’s ministry was one of revival, healing, and hope, adding that his evangelistic zeal and impact will continue to inspire generations long after his passing.
Governor Eno offered prayers for God’s comfort and strength for the family during this difficult period, assuring them of the Akwa Ibom State Government’s support as they mourn the loss of one of the nation’s most revered Christian leaders.
The governor also spoke about Rev. Ukpai’s role in nation-building and spiritual transformation, describing him as a man who faithfully served God and humanity with distinction.
“Rev. Uma Ukpai lived a life that exemplified faith in action. He preached Christ, healed the broken, and gave hope to the hopeless. His works will never be forgotten,” Governor Eno said.
Members of the Ukpai family, who received the governor and his delegation, expressed deep gratitude for the visit. They described the governor’s gesture as a great comfort, noting that Rev. Ukpai always had a strong love for Akwa Ibom State and often spoke fondly of his home and people.
Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai was the founder and president of the Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association (UUEA), an interdenominational ministry known for its global outreach, evangelism, and crusades that have impacted millions of lives for decades.
His life’s mission was to spread the message of salvation, faith, and unity in Christ. Through his ministry, he raised generations of Christian leaders and ministers who continue to carry the torch of his vision.
As tributes continue to pour in from across the world, Rev. Uma Ukpai is being remembered not only as a preacher of the gospel but as a father figure, a mentor, and a man who lived his faith boldly.
